postmodern atrabiliousness

eighty years after the last big crash we again stand before a prospect of change, as cynically anticipated and embraced as agitprop slogan by the conjectural saviour elected into office as maximo lider of the last remaining superpower on this planet...

the winds of change puff through the gaps of our ramshackle temple of western liberal paradigm. capitalism has become a merciless and insatiable monster of corruption beyond the fondest nightmares of mere avarice.

bailouts, expropriation and nationalization suddenly are en vogue tools among western governments to fight the rogue golem of finance.

left green parties form genrified coalitions with right wing conservatives, the people prefer charismatic leaders over pragmatic representatives, antisemitic hordes march the streets again, the glorious UN tumbles towards awkward insignificance.

is this just yet another hysteric crisis of the regular clumsiness of humankind or is it the dusk of an era? are we approaching a silent apocalypse resulting from mere querulousness of man? is it the inevitable destiny of human societies to dissolve into post-modern vacuity? do we want to restart or continue?
